Mathematics for Social Justice

This course provides students with some of the analytic skills and quantitative literacy necessary to tackle complex social issues. We’ll explore issues like human trafficking, fair elections, and public school districting through the lens of graph theory, geometry, and game theory. At the end of the course students will see that, far from being a useless abstract pursuit, mathematics is a powerful tool that can be leveraged to solve some of the most challenging problems facing society.
